On the occasion of the Third Dialogue of the China-Europe-America Museums Cooperation Initiative, we invited Hu Dingyi, winner of the 2023 China-Europe-America Youth Program International Communication Prize, to be with us during this cultural journey in Tianjin.
As a youth representative, Hu Dingyi delivered a speech in English at the closing ceremony of the third dialogue of the China-Europe-America Museums Cooperation Initiative held in Nankai University. She mentioned in her speech that museums are an excellent way for people to perceive cities and cultures. By visiting museums, people can listen to dialogues among different civilizations and enhance their understanding of their own and other cultures. She hopes to become a museum curator in the future and to, through the power of technology and internet, enable audience from around the world to share the achievements of civilizations across time and space.
Mr. Yu Yunquan, President of the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, who came to Tianjin to participate in the third dialogue of the China-Europe-America Museums Cooperation Initiative, also had a cordial exchange with Hu Dingyi. President Yu congratulated her on her role as a young leader in the field of cross-cultural communication and encouraged her to continue to explore and grow in the world of museums.
Hu Dingyi visited the prestigious Tianjin Museum, accompanied by its director Mr. Yao Yang. Founded in 1918, Tianjin Museum is one of the earliest modern museums in China, celebrating 105 years of history. The museum houses a collection of 210,000 cultural relics, including ceramics, calligraphy, painting, jade artifacts, oracle bones, gold and silverware, glassware, and imperial seals, covering various important categories of cultural artifacts.
At the end of the journey, Mr. David Gosset, founder of the China-Europe-America Global Initiative, presented Hu Dingyi with a certificate of honor and congratulated her once again on winning the 2023 Zhejiang University/China-Europe-America Youth Program International Communication Challenge.
